Our Community

Shortly after the settlement of about 8 families in the village of Pipestone, Pastor Charles Thayer began preaching  at the Stuart family store in October 1878.  The 11 people attending these services became the charter members of First Presbyterian Church In Pipestone when it officially organized on November 24, 1878.

First Presbyterian Church has been proudly serving God and Pipestone community for the 140+ years since then.  Those years have brought community and congregational growth, loss, rebuilding, and waves of new commitment to the mission of the church and to serving the surrounding community.
